ECDP
My name is Lori Brown. This is my first year teaching at Timberlea Public School. I can honestly say that I have never felt so welcomed and supported as I have here, and my hope is that you are your child feel the same.
I was born and raised in Newfoundland. I moved to Fort McMurray in 2009, after the completion of the Bachelor of Education (Primary/Elementary) from Memorial University. I spent two years as a substitute teacher for FMPSD. Between 2010 and 2021 I spent the majority of my time as an Early Childhood Educator in town. I accepted a position as Reggio-Inspired ECDP Teacher in January 2016. That contract was cut short by the fire. From the ashes came our miracle baby boy, followed 2 years later by his little brother. I stopped working full-time in 2021 to spend more time with my children and have been working part-time as a substitute teacher for FMPSD since then. My boys will be attending Timberlea Public School too (grade 1 and ECDP). I am passionate about early childhood education and learning through play. I have found my niche in ECDP. I am very excited for the year ahead, as I learn and grow with my students.
