At Timberlea Public School we are continuing our journey towards integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics activities into weekly classes for all students in grades 1 to 6. STEAM is offered for 1 hour per week and aims to give students opportunities to engage in hands on activities that challenge their problem solving skills, creativity and imagination. We are also excited to be working with our district technology department to offer a Tech and Trades Academy as a weekly after school activity.
STEAM programming engages students in collaborative planning to complete hands-on learning activities to enrich current curriculum and extend learning into real world applications. We aim to encourage students to take thoughtful risks, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process to design and complete STEAM projects.
