Ms. Andrea Organ, Grade 6
Welcome to Grade Six
My name is Mrs. Andrea Organ and I am excited to start my twefth year at Timberlea Public School. I believe that students learn best in an engaging and safe environment and that is what I plan to provide for them.
We will begin this week by establishing classroom routines, procedures, expectations and getting to know one another. I expect students to always come prepared to class and to be on time. Students need to be responsible for their actions as well as their belongings. I would ask that all assigned tasks, homework and assignments are completed when requested. I also expect students to follow our school agreements: Mutual Respect, Attentive Listening, Appreciation - No Put Downs, and The Right to Pass.
Homework is work that is not completed during class time, with the exception of unfinished class work, any major projects, 20-minute reading (5 nights a week), and test preparation. This year we will be relying on our Class Blog/Website and Social Media to communicate with home. Students will not be recieving agendas, http://mrsorganscorner.weebly.com/ is where you will find daily homework, details about assignments, photos of things we are doing in class, updates and reminders of important community & school events. The blog can be accessed from any device (smartphone, tablet, computer). We will also be using different Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) to communicate with home, as well as post photos and updates of what’s happening in class. Facebook will strictly be for parents, the blog, twitter and instagram will be available for both students and parents. You can follow me on whichever social media platforms you use by adding @mrsorganscorner.
Please visit and make yourself familiar with our class website/blog mrsorganscorner.weebly.com and check us our on your favourtite social media @mrsorganscorner.
Students are allowed to bring their own devices - BYOD (smart phones, tablets, chromebooks) to school this year. Students will be taught how to be good digital citizens and to see their devices as educational tool, rather than a distraction. Please visit http://bit.ly/1GN0Wun to learn more about our in class BYOD Policy.

If you have any questions or concerns please comment on the blog or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org / mrsorganscorner.weebly.com
I will be compiling a list of parent emails for the students in Six M. I find that email is an effective method of communication, especially with our different schedules.
